"I enjoy working with people, and I have learnt a lot through the years whilst working with people with different needs. I have also learnt that caring for people isn’t just a routine thing where you just have to wake them up, get them fed, sit them and in a corner to wait for the next meal and then back to bed. People need to be treated as individuals and caring requires a good level of people skills. I am always happy after my shift when I reflect and see that I have made someone feel good about themselves and feel valued. The best way to care for someone is to treat them like you would a family member – If something is worth doing, do it right and be the best that you can be."
