Our Chair of Trustees

James Doyle is our Chair of Trustees and was elected in February 2026 after our previous Chairman John Hubert Cox MBE sadly passed away in December 2025, at the age of 95. James is married to Maria, the youngest grandchild of Joseph Cox, the charities founder and has been part of the Mary and Joseph House management team since 2013. James is passionate about ensuring the charity continues to deliver outstanding care for both residents and staff. Outside of his work with the Joseph Cox Charity, James has several business interests.

Aims & Objectives

Our aim is to provide a safe, caring and stable environment to gentlemen looking to get back on their feet after alcohol dependency and mental health difficulties.

We have a dedicated and personable team of care professionals who ensure that each resident is treated as an individual and helped to develop their full potential.
